J. Paul Getty was quoted with, "I'd rather have 1% of 100 people's efforts, than 100% of my own effort". So where do you find 100 people? NuSkin tells Distributors to make a list of 100 people you know. these are the people we want to show the Distributor program to and recruit to join our team. Here are some suggestions:

Sifting versus Selling

At NuSkin, we want to sift for the right people to join our team - not hard sell. The pool of people we put into the funnel may be many, but we want to use the various company videos, presentations, websites, phone conferences to present the program. Then when you have someone who's interest and curiosity is peeked, you have a prospect. Sometimes the people you think will do well in this business - won't; and some people you think won't do well - excel. So do not pre-judge or screen someone out. Look for the common traits of success - positive mental attitude, likability, tenacity, honesty, a dreamer, an entrepreneur, and a person who has the will to work hard. Consider that you are interviewing candidates for a position in your business. You may have to go through 25 or 50 people to get the right one you want on your team. In today's economically challenged job market, a company may get 250-300 resumes for each job posted. Human Resources has to "sift" through these to find the right "one" for the job.

You Are Now a Trainer

From the very beginning, your business involves training. Once you have recruited your Distributors and begin building your organization, you have to become a trainer. It is imperative that you consider this important role in running your business. You need a training strategy, a plan, material, a teaching style and a goal to train those within your team. All this information you have been receiving from your upline(s), is now information and knowledge that you have to share with your people. Everybody learns differently and at their own pace. DVD - Using the NuSkin Products

For those who haven't purchased or received your 5-pack Business Builder starter kit, there is a DVD included with each starter pack that is very good at explaining the application of the products and what they do. It is very detailed, and it covers applications to the face, the body, and the scalp. It's done as a step-by-step guide that can be watched when you first start using the products. It even prompts you when to pause the DVD so you can apply the product as instructed and then return to the video. It makes it very simple. Any Distributor or Client who buys the starter kit receives the DVD, so don't worry too much about becoming an expert on doing a demo. Network Marketing - It's an Asset, Not a Job

I am sometimes asked, "Why do so few people make it to the top of their network marketing system?"

The truth is, the top of the network marketing system is open to everyone-unlike traditional corporate systems, which allow only one person to reach the top of the company. The reason most people do not reach the top is simply because they quit too soon.

So why would someone quit short of the top? Most people join only to make money. If they don't make money in the first few months or years, they become discouraged and quit (and then often bad-mouth the industry!). Others quit and go looking for a company with a better compensation plan.

But joining to make a few quick dollars is not the reason to get into the business.

The Two Essential Reasons to Join a Network Marketing Business:

Reason number one is to help yourself. Reason number two is to help others.

If you join for only one of these two reasons, then the system will not work for you. Reason number one, means that you come to the business primarily to change quadrants-to change from the E (Employee) or the S (Self-employed) quadrant to the B (Business owner) or I (Investor) quadrant. This change is normally very difficult for most people because of money. The true E or S quadrant person will not work unless it is for money. This is also what causes people to not reach the top of the network marketing system: they want money more than they want to change quadrants.

A B quadrant or I quadrant person will also work for money, but in a different way. The B quadrant person works to build or create an asset-in this case, a business system. The I quadrant person invests in the asset or the system. The beauty of most network marketing systems is that you do not really make much money unless you help others leave the E and S quadrants and succeed in the B and I quadrants. If you focus on helping others make this shift, then you will be successful in the business.

As a B or an I, sometimes you don't get paid for years; this, a true E quadrant or S quadrant person will not do. It's not part of their core values. Risk and delayed gratification disturb them emotionally.

Delayed Gratification and Emotional Intelligence: One of the beauties of network marketing is that it focuses on developing your emotional intelligence as well as your business skills.

Emotional intelligence is an entirely different matter from academic intelligence. In general, someone with high emotional intelligence will often do better than someone with high academic intelligence but low emotional intelligence. That explains, in part, why some people do well in school but not so well in the real world. The ability to delay gratification is a sign of higher emotional intelligence. In a recent study of emotional intelligence, it was found that people who could delay gratification often led more successful lives than those who could not. This is why the educational system inherent in a good network marketing opportunity is so important. It's the emotional education or emotional intelligence aspect of their programs that I find so valuable for people.

Many people write me and tell me they loved my book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, but I fear that many of them don't get the most important point of the book: Lesson #1, "The rich don't work for money."

Once I have built or bought an asset, that asset works hard to make money for me. But I will not work for money-I will work only to build or buy assets. Those assets make me richer and richer, while I work less and less. That is what the rich do. The poor and middle class work hard for money, and then buy liabilities instead of investing in assets.

What Kind of Asset is a Network Marketing Business? Remember, there are two reasons required to be successful in network marketing: to help yourself, and to help others. Reason number one means helping yourself get to the B side of the quadrant.

What about reason number two? The beauty of most network marketing systems is that you don't really make much money unless you help others leave the E and S quadrants and succeed in the B and I quadrants. If you focus on helping others make this shift, then you will be successful in the business. If you only want to teach yourself to be a B quadrant and I quadrant person, then a true network marketing system won't work for you. You may as well go to a traditional business school, which focuses only on your becoming a B quadrant person.

The beauty of a network marketing business is that your goal is to create assets, which are other B's working under you-and their job is to create other B's working under them. In traditional business, the focus is for the B to have only E's and S's working for them.

The type of business I was taught to build is a business with me at the top and E's and S's at the base. I really don't have room at the top for many other B's, which is why in my businesses, I strongly recommend that all my employees look into network marketing as their own part-time businesses. The traditional corporate system really is a pyramid, because there are a few B's and I's near the top, and more E's and S's at the base.

A network marketing system is a reverse pyramid: its primary focus is to bring up more and more B's to the top. One type of pyramid, the traditional type, has its base on the ground; the other type has its base in the air. It's a pyramid that pulls you up instead of pushing you down.A network marketing business gives everyone access to what used to be the domain only of the rich.

Making Decisions

"The person who insists upon seeing the clearness of the decision, will never make the decision". Leaders are people who can make a decision based upon the amount of available information at the time of making the decision. They will research the opportunity, assess the strengths/weaknesses and opportunities/risks, but they know how to pull the trigger and make a decision. Another saying is, "analysis paralysis". Some people over analyze everything, wanting to gather data, statistics, information, review studies, etc. to the nth degree. At some point you have to make a decision, either take action or not! When recruiting, training and motivating people to become Distributors in your NuSkin team, don't waste your time with the person who cannot make a decision. It is OK to talk to analytical people, but look for leaders who can make a decision and who are willing to take "action". A Distributor will be someone who can take action and learn as he/she goes. A potential prospect that over analyzes everything will zap you of your time/energy and will require too much hand holding, a relationship you cannot afford in developing your business. Leaders will help you build your business and help you achieve your dreams!

Direct Line between arNOX and ageLOC

oupsapIn the 2009 NuSkin Galvanic Spa/ageLOC Product Information Sheet, NuSkin prints, "ageLOC ingredients are specially designed to prevent the expressions of free radicals in the epidermis associated with arNOX enzyme. This prevention may help slow the signs of aging that may be caused by accelerated free radical production". And, in the flip charts NuSkin shows the study charts with the introduction of the ageLOC blend (extract) and states that the ageLOC (TM) serum was added and measured and the arNOX damaging activity flat lines at ZERO. Why is this important? We've all heard the old adage that "a house built upon rock, will withstand the test of time!". What does that mean to us, who are building a business and livelihood through being a NuSkin Distributor? Being a NuSkin Distributor is not a "get rich quick scheme". Building a business requires commitment and hard work. But, we do represent a very solid multinational corporation that has strong leadership, financially stability and patented/revolutionary products directed at the baby boomer market (42-65 year old population), which has 90 million people in the US alone. So what are some of the things we have to do to build a solid foundation (the rock) in our business?

Profile of a Successful Distributror

Distributors have some commons traits. Here are 10 common traits you will find in a prospective person to become a Distributor in your organization:
1. Someone with strong work ethics
2.. Entrepreneurial spirit and orientation
3. Self starter; self directed; and determined
4. Organized approach to work and uses leveraging people to achieve goals
5. Mentor, trainer and someone who can motivate and empower others to succeed
6. People who can follow a success plan implemented by successful leaders
7. A person with a “can do” attitude
8. People with goals they want to achieve
9. People with passion
10. Someone who can make a decision
Recruiting Distributors is like having a deck of cards. You want to look for the Aces, Kings and Queens. They will most likely make become the most successful Distributors and achieve Executive level status.

Why are some people adverse to taking on risk? Because F. E. A. R. (False Evaluation About Reality) may be in their career DNA. Some people just fear the unknown and/or analyze a decision to death, sometimes referred to as "analysis paralysis". These kinds of people often are not happy with their careers; are unhappy in their work; and/or struggle achieving their personal goals. Because of their fear of the unknown, they languish in their current positions and are afraid to consider a career change. Unhappy and stay, and afraid to move. This betwixt and between career position make them uncertain. They may be very good people, they may be smart, hard working and basically want others to tell them what to do. It's A Numbers Game

Think of yourself in a baseball or football stadium. How many people do you know? There may be 50,000 to 100,000 in attendance. Probably more than you think, but also - not so many. Everyone is a candidate to join our NuSkin team. You just have to search, tell the story and seek the Aces and Kings to be Distributors in your business. Not everyone you meet qualifies to be a Distributor, but everyone can be a consumer or customer of your business. Remember, we get paid on moving products through the supply channel, not on recruiting. You build income geometrically by recruiting people into your organization. Some times we get lost and discouraged because we think no one is interested. There are thousands and thousands of people just like you and me that are looking for work and looking for an opportunity to work for a great company, with great products and with a program that provides unlimited income. You just have to find those people who are looking. Residual income and financial security for you and your family is based upon your efforts, your hard work and your plans on how you want to achieve your goals. There is no limit to your success, if you take one step every day and build your business one number at a time. The more numbers, the greater your success!

Ethocyn - Research & Development

Entrepreneurship - Risk Minimized by NuSkin

Today, many colleges and universities are developing courses and programs for the "entrepreneur". "No" - Doesn't Mean No Forever

I have been in sales/marketing and recruiting for many years. What I have found, is that "no" does not mean "no forever....just no, not right now". Everybody has different pushes and pulls in their lives. personal, family and professional events, pressures and activities that cause them to look at opportunities differently at different times. A "no" decision today could change tomorrow. Someone with a job today, could get notice of being laid off tomorrow. His/her situation has changed, and they may be more open to a great career opportunity - like the NuSkin program. So, don't get discouraged and give up on someone you talk to about our program.

The "Something Better"............

The Something Better of the Present or the Near-Term Future:
When we examine where we are today, it’s tempting to forever dream of improving our circumstances by living somewhere else, by associating with other people, or by pursuing a different professional direction. Such dreams can be the critical path to personal fulfillment and growth, or the road to disappointments based on our willingness (or unwillingness) to act on them. Put simply, dreaming of something better without taking action to make those dreams a reality is the road to extreme frustration. We envision the something better as optimal, but our current situation becomes increasingly unbearable by comparison if we don’t take tangible steps toward something better. But by using something better as a way to motivate ourselves to action, we suddenly become dynamic players in creating our own futures. And something better becomes the animating influence for a greater sense of personal growth and fulfillment.

We Get Paid on Moving Products

During a recent conversation with a prospective Distributor, the question was asked "how does a NuSkin Distributors got paid?". The husband and wife team were turned off my plans that pay Distributors for recruiting others. They were very pleased to know that NuySkin does "not" pay Distributors to recruit people. As Distributors, we all get paid on volume of products moved through the NuSkin "supply channel", which is direct from NuSkin warehouses to the customer. The reason we recruit other Distributors, is that NuSkins' compensation plan pays on gross volume of products sold and distributed through the organizations we build. The compensation plan pays Distributors for building an organization that increases volume. Distributors get paid on their organization's volume because we add new Distributors. Our commission rate of 5% of volume increases to 10% with each Distributor that becomes an Executive. This plan that pays for both "levels" of Distributors and "generations" of Executives is the Cadillac in the network marketing industry. The more product we move through our organizations, the more we get paid. It is simple and very lucrative.

Don't Sell - Tell The Story and Show Pictures

"But I don't know how to sell", says the person considering becoming a NuSkin Distributor. We "Tell the Story, and Show pictures". Present the facts and let people make an informed decision about joining NuSkin. Each of us has a story to tell. Larry has been in network marketing for years and has made lots of money working for NuSkin. Tom uses his executive search firm to help people out of work, get back to work being an entrepreneur and business owner. Andrew can offer NuSkin products to his real estate customers. Heather is involved with health and fitness and provides a more youthful solution to her contacts. Once you believe in the strength of the company and the quality of the products, it becomes easy to form your own story and show the pictures. NuSkin has some very good marketing materials, great videos and nothing works like showing the Galvanic Spa and ageLoc/Tru Face Essence Ultra during a face-to-face meeting.

Baby Boomers Make "Millionaires"

Since WWII in the mid-1940's, corporations and people have made millions of dollars off the baby boomers. And that target market - the Baby Boomers, are again making millionaires. NuSkin is selling $10 million a day with the new ageLOC/Galvanic Spa/Tru Face Essence Ultra product line. And Distributors like you and me can be millionaires, if we follow the proven NuSkin methods of building a business. Products like Gerber's Baby Food, the Hoola Hoop, Davey Crocket Racoon Caps, Thunderbird, minivans, home Mortgages, etc - and yes, products of NuSkin that offer a solution to a more youthful appearance. Products that not only take off 7-12 years of age, but can keep the 'elastin" in the skin. Even the younger Gen X and Gen Y population groups want to eliminate wrinkles, lines, cellulite and other unwanted visual signs of aging. Business strategist say that our products targeted at these age groups are perfect in today's society.

Why is NuSkin "Recession" proof?

Why is NuSkin growing at 25% per year and will grow from $1.250,000,000 to over $5 billion in the next three to five years? This is unheard of during this economic crisis, which is the worst since the great depression that occurred after the crash of our stock market in 1929. Window of Opportunity; Sense of Urgency

Marketing and Product Managers that handle brands for major corporations like NuSkin, utilize statistical patterns to track and mark product life cycles. The statistical pattern used to track consumable/reusable products like ageLOC/Galvanic Spa/Tru Face Essence Ultra is the traditional "bell curve". Describing the bell curve - it is moving upward slowly, then turns rapidly upward in an explosive pattern and levels off, or plateaus. These three NuSkin products were released in mid-January 2009 of this year. Today, we are in the slow growth period, but are rapidly approaching that explosive growth period, where the pattern turns substantially upward. The "window of opportunity" is probably two to three years. What's the point? From a product managers point of view, now is the best time to invest and get involved with the NuSkin products, because we are at or in the pre-growth part of the bell curve.

In building an organization, there is a "sense of urgency" for two reasons. First, is the window of opportunity in the product life cycle pattern described above. Distributors want to bring others into their organizations during the pre-growth stage, when competition is less and opportunity to leverage products is at their greatest. Second, these are emotional and consumable products. Like all products developed, marketed and sold to the baby boomers, this targeted market is right for staying healthier and looking younger. Companies and people have made millions developing, promoting and selling products to the 90 million baby boomers in the US alone.
